using iphone in Italy and data roaming

I have a contract for my son’s phone. We were in Italy for 5 nights and used data roaming. Will we be charged for this . I thought data roaming was free if you use your data allowance

If you were in Italy, roaming is included, so using your data allowance there wouldn't normally result in additional charges.

However, you could still see charges on your bill if any out-of-plan services were used, such as:

Premium rate services
Calls or texts not covered by your allowance
Usage outside of the inclusive roaming terms
Any other chargeable add-ons or services

We'd recommend checking your itemised bill in the iD Mobile app or your online account, as this will show exactly what any additional charges relate to.
