Using Watsapp in New Zealand

Does anyone know if using Watsapp over Wi-Fi in New Zealand is free? It’s too expensive to buy the ID Beyond package so I’m going to buy an eSIM but that will mean getting a new number. I’d like to keep in touch with family and friends on my existing number, if that is possible.

    Hi there ​@GBobs63, we don’t charge for using WhatsApp specifically for using calls or texts at anytime. However, if you’re in New Zealand and using data to use WhatsApp and not using the roam-beyond package, you will be charged for using your data, not for the calls/texts on WhatsApp specifically.
