Cancel 1 month Sim only plan within cooling off period and keep my number

I purchased a SIM only 1 month plan on 7/4/26.

 

Despite the coverage map showing good results at my work and home address, the signal at my work is terrible inside and outside and hardly able to make calls or go online.

 

My 14 day cooling off period would end 21/4/26, if I return and cancel my monthly sim only plan how can I  retain my mobile number as I would not be able to transfer out in time for the 21st?

 

I don’t want to lose my number, but also don’t want to pay for another month due to the signal issues!

Just to reassure you, you won’t automatically lose your number, but you’re right to check before making any changes. If you cancel within your 14-day cooling-off period, the account will close and your number can be lost unless we take the right steps first so it’s important we handle this carefully.
