Question

Cancellation within 30 Days

I’ve recently moved to ID mobile from Vodafone as I assumed that the Three/Vodafone merger would have resulted in the same level of network coverage. Unfortunately this hasn’t been the case and I’m looking to cancel within the 30 day period outlined in my contract documents (as follows)

If you’ve changed your mind and would like to cancel your SIM-only plan, there’s no need to return your SIM card to us or take it back to a Currys store. No matter where you purchased your plan - whether on idmobile.co.uk, by phone, through mobiles.co.uk, carphonewarehouse.com, or Currys - you have 30 days to let us know if you wish to cancel. This does not affect your Statutory Rights.

After contacting ID mobile this morning I was told I’d have to go to mobiles.co.uk (where I purchased the plan from) but they are saying as the contract is with ID mobile I have to talk to them. Both dispute the 30 days even though this is what the contract states.

Any help/advice on what to do next would be hugely appreciated!!

Hi @J Austin,

We're sorry to hear the coverage hasn't been working out for you.

If the SIM-only plan was purchased through mobiles.co.uk, we wouldn't be able to process the return or cancellation ourselves because we don't have access to third-party retailer orders.

The best next step is to go back to mobiles.co.uk and ask them to process the cancellation under the cooling-off period for the order placed through their website.

You can also refer them to our returns and cancellations information here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-support/returns-cancellations

As the order was placed via a third-party retailer, they should be the ones who arrange the cancellation and return process.

If you're still being passed back and forth after contacting them again, let us know and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.

Regards,

Hi @Thesummers.

Thanks for your post. If you’d like to cancel your SIM‑only plan, please review the following disconnection options:

  • Cancel with a STAC code – This cancels your service immediately without keeping your number. You will need to provide the STAC code to any other network you join. If you do not use the STAC code, your account will stay active. Please do not choose this option if you are not able to provide the STAC code to a different provider.
  • Cancel with a PAC code – This allows you to transfer your number to a different network.
  • 30‑day disconnection – You can keep using your service for 30 days, and your contract will then disconnect at the end of that period.

To have any of these options initiated, please contact our team directly via live chat: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat, and we’ll be happy to assist you with the cancellation.

Thanks,

Marquerita
