I have moved country temporarily and have got a sim plan over here. If I cancel my ID mobile plan how can I ensure that I can get the same phone number back when I move back to the UK next year?

Hi @grussy18

If you cancel your plan, it’ll disconnect and cancel the number.

We’d recommend keeping the plan as is, ensuring that payments are kept up to date, it might be worth seeing if you’re able to upgrade/change plan to a cheaper one so you’re paying less while you’re not using it.

There’s no cheaper plan. So I’m just stuck paying this contract that I can’t use until I get back just so I can keep my original UK number is that what you’re saying?

Hey there @grussy18. If you want to keep your phone number, you’d either need to continue the same contract, or move it to another network.

If you cancelled your plan with us, and didn’t move the number elsewhere, then it’d be lost within 60-days of disconnection.

Thank you,

Tyler

I moved abroad a while ago and just cancelled through the live chat after turning off my direct debit. They asked for my PAC too, even though I didn’t need to keep the number.

Hi @AlexanerSS,

Is the contract disconnected? Did you use the PAC to move the number to a different network?

Kash

Cancelling your direct debit will leave your final bill unpaid, which will be passed on to a debt collection agency and ruin your credit file.
