I'm with iD mobile under contract for another 18 or so months. The phone service is shockingly bad when I stay at my partner's address. Been through it all with them and no resolution. Letter of deadlock issued etc. Early termination fee around £450... using a PAC.
However this means paying up for something I will no longer be able to access, effectively ending all ties with iD mobile. I will keep handset obviously that came with contract but lose all services despite effectively paying for them 'in advance.'
Alternatively, I'm happy to keep paying the monthly fee as agreed under contract and possibly get a new number from iD and use this in conjunction with a tablet for travel use.
I want to keep my long term existing number for mobile phone use and go back to O2 who I know provide better signal in the area I have the problem.
The only way I can see to do this is to request PAC and port number and initiate a new second contract with O2, that's fine and I am happy to do that. However, I'd also like to get the value of the money I'm paying to iD mobile and keep the benefits of that even if it means continuing to pay the agreed monthly fee with iD mobile of £25 a month in that form.
There seems no way to be able to keep my existing number and switch to O2 without ending agreement which triggers early termination and complete loss of iD mobile service.
Surely consumers should be able to switch old long term number to a new network and old network (iD) maintain service /contract with a new replacement number if that's our choice, after all, I’m not even looking to break contract, simply looking to keep old long-term number.
Any ideas?
