why is upgrading much more expensive than being a new customer with carphone warehouse

Hi why is it much cheaper as a new customer through Carphone warehouse to get a new phone much cheaper than being an existing customer getting an upgrade. Feels like I’m being ripped of to be honest. I spend a fortune already on 3 contracts.

New customer offers are often introductory deals based on our standard (base) pricing, whereas upgrade offers for existing customers are calculated differently and are based on a number of factors, including your account history and eligibility.
