Amazon £60 voucher not provided

Hi,

I placed an order for an ID Mobile SIM using the link for a £60 Amazon voucher (administered by Giftcloud) via the Money Saving Expert website. I received a confirmation email “An Update on your Gift” from ID Mobile thanking me for my order and asking me to complete my order on the ID Mobile website to receive the voucher, which I duly did. I can evidence this via emails showing I now have the ID Mobile SIM and that I am paying monthly by DD. I followed all the instructions, allowing cookies, watching my spam folder, no ad blocker etc.

I expected the Giftcloud voucher for £60 for Amazon in Sept (after 120 days) but this has not arrived. I have checked my spam email folder to be sure.

I have tried resolving this via Giftcloud, and they asked some several data points (email/date/transaction no/order no) to investigate, all of which I have except for an Order Number. I have checked all my emails and texts from ID Mobile but I cannot find an Order Number.

I have seen a lot of correspondence from other consumers with the same issue and being passed between ID Mobile and Giftcloud without resolution, many feeling like this is a scam to gain subscribers without honouring the contract for the voucher. On the Giftcloud web site it says “Please note that we act only as a data processor—the final decision on approval or decline comes directly from the brand”.

Please can someone help me resolve this?

Hi ​@MrScottPhillips  sorry to hear you have had trouble with Gift Cloud. The order needs to track correctly through the right links in order to get the reward, if this is not done, it won’t be provided.

We can get you your order number though if you’re unable to find this.

thanks for the quick response. 

I spoke with live-chat as you suggested but contrary to the information above, they say they cannot provide me with the Order Number.

 

 

Giftcloud insist on me providing the Transaction Number (which I have) AND the Order Number.

 

However, again, Giftcloud say that “Please note that we act only as a data processor—the final decision on approval or decline comes directly from the brand”. I believe you have all the information to see that this order was placed in conformance with the offer and that I am still an ID Mobile customer, paying by DD more than 120 days since my order so you can provide them with the “the final decision on approval”.

 

If that is not possible then it feels like a breach of the contract I took out which included the £60 Amazon voucher, and given the large number of customers I can see online that have had similar issues, it would be necessary for me to raise the issue with Ofqal.

I am hoping ID Mobile can help resolve this and that that will not be necessary.

thanks for getting back to me. The good news is that yesterday GiftCloud emailed me and confirmed that they have reached out to ID Mobile to seek your confirmation that I have purchased an ID Mobile SIM in line with the original offer. They said:

On occasions like this we take these details you supply and pass them onto the brand you signed up with who then check your details within their system and confirm if you are eligible for this reward manually.”

This is great and I look forward to ID Mobile confirming to GiftCloud that they can go ahead and issue the Amazon voucher.

If this is not the case, knowing that I have complied with the terms of the offer and that ID Mobile has the evidence of this, I will need to contact the regulator as there seem to be a significant number of people online reporting problems with getting ID Mobile to fulfil the contract associated with this offer.

The order number is displayed on the ‘Thank You For Your Order’ email. That’s where mine is.
