I got scammed

Someone scammed my account and ordered a new phone. Luckily i didn' t post it to them despite the abusive and persistant phone calls. i have returned the phone to Mobile.co.uk (received back 21/08/2026), but my plan still hasn't changed back. i am now being billed £80 for some reason. How is this ok?

I was out of contract and all of a sudden i am lumbered with a £63 a month contract for 2 years and nothing to show for it! At this point i just want to leave iD mobile.

Stress levels are through the roof all thanks to a stranger who thinks ripping off pensioners is ok.

Todd at Curry's Truro was amazing, so helpful   But iD mobile customer service and fraud line were less than helpful and really rude at times.

Some help to sort this out so i am not still being defrauded would be great....someone? anyone? hello.........????

    Hi @LynT,

I'm so sorry to hear what you've been through. It sounds incredibly stressful, especially when you've done the right thing by identifying the scam, refusing to hand the phone over, and returning the device.

It's great to hear that Todd at Currys Truro was able to help, but I'm sorry that your experience with the other teams hasn't left you feeling supported.

As the phone has now been returned and this relates to a suspected fraudulent upgrade, we'll need the relevant teams to review the account and ensure that the return has been fully processed and that any associated charges or contract changes have been addressed correctly.

Unfortunately, we're unable to review account-specific billing or fraud investigations here on the Community.

Have you received any confirmation that the return was processed following receipt on 21/08/2026, or are you still waiting for an update?

If you're still waiting, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Service Team via Live Chat and making it clear that:

    • The upgrade was reported as fraudulent.
    • The handset was returned and received on 21/08/2026.
    • You're still seeing charges relating to the upgrade.
    • You would like an update on the return, billing and account status.

We apologise for the distress and inconvenience this situation has caused, and we hope you're able to get a resolution as quickly as possible.

    Regards,
