I transferred my sim from an Apple phone to Android.  Now I don't get any imessages that are sent to me.  How can I fix this.

Deregister via Apple isn't working.

Other iPhones obviously still see you as registered for iMessages. Either put your SIM back in an iPhone and disable iMessage, or contact Apple for support.

Hi @Coz1872

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

This usually happens when your number is still registered with iMessage from your previous Apple device. As you’ve now moved to Android, iMessages won’t be delivered as standard SMS.

To fix this, you’ll need to deregister iMessage for your number. You can do this by:
• Going to Apple’s “Deregister iMessage” page online
• Entering your phone number and following the verification steps

Once this is done, messages should come through as normal text messages on your Android device.

Thank you,

Hi @Coz1872,

When you move from an iPhone to Android, your number can stay linked to iMessage, which can stop you receiving normal SMS texts. You’ll need to deregister iMessage so messages come through as standard texts.

Here’s how to fix it:

If you still have your iPhone:

  1. Put your SIM back into the iPhone
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Messages
  4. Turn iMessage OFF
  5. Go back, tap FaceTime
  6. Turn FaceTime OFF

This removes your number from Apple’s system.

If you no longer have your iPhone:

You can deregister online using Apple’s tool: https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/

  • Enter your phone number
  • You’ll receive a verification code
  • Enter the code to complete deregistration

After doing this:

  • Restart your Android phone
  • Ask someone to send you a test SMS

Extra tip:

It can take a few hours (sometimes up to 24 hours) for everything to fully update across networks.

If you’re still not receiving texts after this, let me know, we can check your network settings or SIM next.
