Opting for upgrade when already with idmobile

Email from ID mobile correctly informed me that my 2 year contract is up in a few days.  Went to it's site and ordered an upgrade, but this did not include transferring my number.  Tried to obtain PAC, but to no avail.  2 years ago I ordered my SIM only from mobiles.co.uk which with ID mobile seem to be part of Carphone Warehouse.  Confused that I received notification from ID mobile but won't recognise my existing number, which I must keep.  What did I do wrong?  Any advice on how I proceed?

It seems you’ve bought a completely new plan rather than upgrading your current one. Unfortunately, you can’t transfer or port a number between iD Mobile accounts.

You have two options: return the new phone and plan and upgrade your existing one or port your desired number to another network and then port it back to your new line and plan.

Been offered an upgrade as I’m near the end of my contract, why are the deals on the upgrade options more expensive than a new customer, for instance iPhone 17 200gb data £19 up front and £35.99 a month for new customer, upgrade don’t offer 200gb only unlimited £29 up front and £47.99 a month is one of the options, can someone clear this up for me

Hi @Connorjtjones

Thank you for getting in touch with us we completely understand why this feels confusing and frustrating.

New customer deals (like the iPhone 17 200GB offer you mentioned) are often promotional offers designed to attract new customers, which means they can be discounted or bundled differently.

Upgrade deals, on the other hand, are based on several factors such as your current plan, payment history, and eligibility, so the options shown in your account may differ.

Additionally, the plans available during upgrades are not always the same bundles (for example, unlimited data instead of 200GB), which is why pricing may appear higher.

For the best available options, please contact our Sales Team on 0800 049 0250, and they’ll be happy to check if there are any suitable deals available for you as a valued customer.

Thank you,
