Setting up account on the app downloaded onto an ipad.

I just got an ID mobile sim only plan and using it on my iPad. Well, since the iPad has no calls and text systems, I use it for data only. however, I have downloaded the ID app onto the iPad and it seems to send a verification code to the number registered (That I couldn’t find anywhere after scanning the QR code to set up the iPad.) (I however found it on the invoice surprisingly). So, the app then gets stuck at sending a verification code and can’t go past it.

is there any other way? I can now start switching around to have it on the phone to set up then transfer it to the iPad. This is ridiculous. I would presume, if it’s an eSIM and as flexible as it is, they could probably have an option of sending the verification to an email. I can’t have the app on my phone. i only want it on my iPad.

    Hi @Emma2026,

Thank you for getting back in touch and for explaining your concerns. I am sorry the requirements around setting up the app on an iPad were not made clearer when you purchased the eSIM.

You do not need to pay for another eSIM simply to use your existing service on another compatible device. Ordering a replacement eSIM is free.

You can also access and manage your account through the iD Mobile website, so you do not have to use the app. You can log in to your online account to view your bills, usage and account information and manage your services.

If you later upgrade to another iPad, you can request a new eSIM for the new device and keep your existing mobile number and plan. The same applies if you decide to move the service to a compatible phone. You would not need to take out a new contract or pay for another plan; you would simply need a new eSIM for the new device.

    Hi @Emma2026,

Thank you for getting in touch and for explaining the issue. I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

As the iPad cannot receive standard SMS messages, the verification code cannot be received directly on the iPad. The initial account setup requires the verification code to be sent by SMS to the iD Mobile number.

The easiest option would be to temporarily install the eSIM on a compatible mobile phone and complete the iD Mobile app registration there. Once you have successfully registered and received the verification code, you can then download the app and log in on your iPad.

Please note that the email verification option is only available for first-time registrations. Once the account has already been registered, the verification code is sent to the mobile number linked to the account.

I am sorry again that this was not clearer when setting up your iPad, and I hope this helps you get everything set up as quickly as possible.

    Thank you for the response.

Unfortunately as mentioned it wasn’t clearly communicated at the beginning and when making the purchase and request, I mentioned on search for use on an iPad.

So, would you have any other solution as the eSIM is used once, so I can’t transfer it now to a mobile and setup the account.  Do I have to make payment for another one? Do I then have to cancel this one and reapply for a new one?Is there any other way I can track my account details then - maybe online through the website or something? As the app is very convenient in running through your account details and monitoring it as and when needed. Including making changes or adding any tabs, monitoring usage, etc etc.

And if I am to upgrade to another iPad in the near future, do I then have to contact you online since you have no physical offices so as to transfer my number / account onto another device? Or if I get need to use the number on a phone since it has unlimited texts and calls (That I am currently not using but paying for), do I then again have to pay for another eSIM or apply for another one?

    Good afternoon,

seems like logging in directly onto the website keeps taking you back to omitting your mobile number and sending a one time passcode.

So, at the end of the day, seems like I maybe access my account to monitor usage and all those other things.

please see attached screenshot in this regard.

    Hi @Emma2026

Thank you for letting us know.

Could you please try restarting your device and attempting to log in again?

It would also help to try using a different browser, as this can sometimes resolve login issues like this.

Let us know if the issue persists.

    Thanks,
