Unable to set up a voicemail

Trying to set up a voicemail. I am asked to create a PIN of between 4 and 10 digits.  I have tried multiple combinations including eight digit dates of birth of several family members (not my own). Every time I do so I am told that number is not available.  How am I supposed to come up with a number ID considers good enough.  There are no prompts, no suggestions and no help on the ‘we’ll help you step by step’ set up message.   

Frustrated doesn’t cover it.

Hey there ​@Foxy31, we’re very sorry to hear that. Have you tried disabling, then re-enabling Voicemail via the iD Mobile app/website, then restarted your phone and then retried again please?

@Tyler C I have the same problem as ​@Foxy31 but I tried what you suggested and it didn’t work. Whatever combination of numbers I enter as a pin it says they aren’t acceptable. What to do?
