Question

Voicemail shows messages waiting but there are none. How do I clear the alerts?

My voicemail shows I have 2 system messages. I don’t. How do I clear this from my iPhone?

    Hi @SimoVirtanen69,

If your iPhone is showing voicemail messages waiting but there aren't actually any messages, please try the following:

    1. Open the Phone app.
    2. Tap Voicemail in the bottom-right corner.
    3. Check for any saved, deleted, or archived messages and remove them.
    4. Close the Phone app completely and reopen it.
    5. Restart your iPhone.
    6. Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off.

If the notification remains, try calling 123 and listening through any system messages, as these can sometimes trigger the voicemail indicator.

If you're still seeing the alert after trying the above, please contact our Live Chat team so they can investigate further: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

Thanks Gemma. Tried this. Didn’t work unfortunately. Also tried, through the ID Mobile app, going to Plan, Manage Your Services, toggling off voicemail, waiting 10 mins, toggling back on. Same issue. Phone app still shows two service voicemails which cannot be cleared.

    Hi @SimoVirtanen69,

Thanks for trying those steps and for the update.

    As you've already:

    • Checked the Voicemail section for saved, deleted, or archived messages.
    • Closed and reopened the Phone app.
    • Restarted the iPhone.
    • Toggled Airplane Mode.
    • Called 123 and checked for messages.
    • Turned voicemail off and back on via the iD Mobile app.

There are a couple of additional things you can try:

    1. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    2. Restart the iPhone once the reset has completed.
    3. Ask someone to leave you a new voicemail, then listen to and delete it. This can sometimes force the voicemail notification to refresh properly.
    4. Update your iPhone to the latest available iOS version if there is an update pending.

If the two phantom voicemail notifications are still showing after this, it may be that the voicemail indicator is stuck on the network side. In that case, you'll need to contact our Live Chat team so they can investigate and refresh the voicemail service on the account.

Thank you again Gemma. The phantom messages are still showing, sadly. I’ll contact customer services. I appreciate your help.
    All the best.
