Hi,

2 issues  I am having on my iphone:

1:  in mobile service (under general) in my iPhone, there is a section named network provider services that when opened says: mail and then lists phone number that is not mine. What is going on?

2: my personal hotspot is in low data mode. How do I change that?

I hope you can help with these issues

    Hi @cosnick365

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry for the confusion caused by these settings on your iPhone. I'd be happy to clarify both points for you.

    1. Network Provider Services showing an unfamiliar number

The Network Provider Services section can display information provided by the mobile network to your iPhone. If it's showing a number that you don't recognise, we'd recommend checking the number stored on the handset first:

    For iPhone:

    • Go to Settings > Phone > My Number.
    • Check that your correct iD Mobile number is displayed.
    •  If it's incorrect, change it to the number you wish to keep. It may not update or save immediately.
    • If the number still doesn't change, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Enter your passcode if prompted and confirm the reset.

Please note that resetting network settings will remove saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords and reset other network-related settings.

    2. Personal Hotspot showing Low Data Mode

Low Data Mode can be switched off from your iPhone's mobile data settings:

    • Open Settings.
    • Tap Mobile Service or Mobile Data.
    • Select Personal Hotspot.
    • If Low Data Mode is enabled, switch it off.

If you're using Personal Hotspot over Wi-Fi, you can also check the connected device's Wi-Fi settings and make sure Low Data Mode isn't enabled for that Wi-Fi connection.

If you're still unable to change the setting or the unfamiliar number remains displayed, please contact us via Live Chat and we'll be happy to investigate this further.

    Hi

    thanks for your help.
regarding the first issue, I only get that unfamiliar number in the section I mentioned. In all the others it is the correct number.

    Hi @cosnick365.

    Thank you for your post.

Regarding the unfamiliar number, could you please confirm whether you recently transferred or ported your mobile number to iD Mobile?

This can sometimes cause a temporary number to appear in certain phone settings, even though your correct number is displayed elsewhere.

    Thanks,

    Marquerita

    Hi @cosnick365.

Thanks for confirming that you ported your number back in November.

To help us narrow this down, could you please let us know:

    • Have you deleted any previous eSIM profiles from your phone (especially old or inactive ones)?
    • Are you currently able to receive calls and texts on your number, or is that also affected?
    •

    Thanks,

    Marquerita

    Hi,

yes I switched from eSIM to SIM card as was not sure it caused the issue. I deleted eSIM straight away.

I am unable to make and receive phone calls when WiFi calling is on and I am connected to WiFi. But no issue if WiFi calling is turned off.

also, I can send sms abroad but I can’t receive them

    Hi @cosnick365.

Thanks for the extra detail. I am sorry to hear you're still having issues with WiFi calling and receiving SMS abroad, even after switching from eSIM to SIM.

Could you please contact us directly via Live Chat: : https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat so we can escalate this to our technical team for further investigation?
