Hi,

2 issues  I am having on my iphone:

1:  in mobile service (under general) in my iPhone, there is a section named network provider services that when opened says: mail and then lists phone number that is not mine. What is going on?

2: my personal hotspot is in low data mode. How do I change that?

I hope you can help with these issues

Hi @cosnick365

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry for the confusion caused by these settings on your iPhone. I'd be happy to clarify both points for you.

1. Network Provider Services showing an unfamiliar number

The Network Provider Services section can display information provided by the mobile network to your iPhone. If it's showing a number that you don't recognise, we'd recommend checking the number stored on the handset first:

For iPhone:

  • Go to Settings > Phone > My Number.
  • Check that your correct iD Mobile number is displayed.
  •  If it's incorrect, change it to the number you wish to keep. It may not update or save immediately.
  • If the number still doesn't change, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Enter your passcode if prompted and confirm the reset.

Please note that resetting network settings will remove saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords and reset other network-related settings.

2. Personal Hotspot showing Low Data Mode

Low Data Mode can be switched off from your iPhone's mobile data settings:

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap Mobile Service or Mobile Data.
  • Select Personal Hotspot.
  • If Low Data Mode is enabled, switch it off.

If you're using Personal Hotspot over Wi-Fi, you can also check the connected device's Wi-Fi settings and make sure Low Data Mode isn't enabled for that Wi-Fi connection.

If you're still unable to change the setting or the unfamiliar number remains displayed, please contact us via Live Chat and we'll be happy to investigate this further.
