Question

Call went straight to voicemail + missed call not shown

I’m using a Google Pixel 9a with eSim. This morning two calls from a non-contact were sent straight to voicemail without ringing.

I had signal and wifi calling turned on.

These calls do not appear in “missed calls” on the phone app, and did not have any notification at the time. I received texts 30 minutes later that two calls were sent to voicemail. How do I get immediate notification of a missed call?

I’ve tried - getting a new eSim, resetting network settings, disabling and re-enabling voicemail.

I also received a call from a different number and it rang as normal without problems.

Hi @Jenny1234,

Thank you for getting in touch with us I am so sorry about the issue you are experiencing on your phone and thank you for providing the detailed information about the issue you are experiencing.

Since you’ve already completed the correct troubleshooting steps including installing a new eSIM, resetting network settings, and re-enabling voicemail and calls from other numbers are coming through normally, this may be related to one of the following:

  • A temporary network routing issue affecting specific numbers.
  • Do Not Disturb or Focus mode settings.
  • Call screening or spam protection features on the Pixel device.

To ensure you receive immediate missed call notifications, we recommend checking the following:

  • Confirm that Call Screen and Spam Call Filter are not set to silently send calls to voicemail.
  • Ensure Do Not Disturb is fully disabled or configured to allow calls from all numbers.
  • Restart the device after confirming these settings.

If the issue continues, kindly send us the private message so that we can have a look into your account.

Thank you,

Zandile
