can not receive sms or send sms

My iPhone is correctly set up, but SMS still fails both sending and receiving. Please re-provision SMS on my SIM and refresh my number port / network registration.”

Thank you for your post. I am sorry to hear you’re still unable to send or receive SMS. I can understand how frustrating that must be.

 

Before we look at escalating this further, please try completing a network reset on your iPhone using the steps below, as this can often refresh the SIM and re-establish SMS services:

 

Go to Settings
Tap Phone
Tap My Number
Delete the old number and re-enter it
Tap Save
Go to Settings → Messages and turn iMessage OFF
Go to General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset
Select Reset Network Settings
Once the phone restarts, go back to Settings → Messages and turn iMessage ON

This will force the device to re-register the SIM on the network, which should help with SMS sending and receiving.

 

Once completed, please restart your device and test again. If the issue is still ongoing after this, let us know and we’ll be happy to investigate further for you.
