I understand you are trying to use your iD Mobile SIM-only contract in your 2018 Porsche Macan and are experiencing issues.

In many cases, vehicle infotainment systems (including Porsche connectivity modules) can be more limited in terms of SIM compatibility. Common causes include:

The vehicle requiring a specific SIM size or adapter
The system not supporting certain network settings (e.g. 4G/VoLTE configuration requirements)
The SIM needing to be manually activated in a compatible phone first before being used in a car system
Some vehicles being locked to specific network types or requiring a data-only SIM

We would recommend:

Testing the SIM in a mobile phone first to confirm it is active and working
Checking the vehicle manual for supported SIM/network requirements
Ensuring the SIM is correctly inserted and the APN settings are compatible (if required)

If the SIM works in a phone but not in the vehicle, the issue is due to compatibility with the car’s built-in system rather than the SIM itself.
