I ordered a new device on Thursday the 5th of March. On Friday the 6th of March, I received an email from DPD stating that my parcel would be delivered between 15:35 - 16:35.
I messaged my mother to ask her if she would be home at that time as I was working, and she sat waiting until 18:00 for a delivery that never came.
I received no notice from DPD about the failed delivery attempt, I had to use the tracking feature on their website to see that the driver had reported that the recipient didn't know the PIN for the delivery. A blatant lie considering that they never showed up and even if they had, my mother was given the PIN by myself.
I submitted a complaint to DPD only to be told that I used the wrong email address. Not sure what they meant by that as the email account that I used was the one that they sent me the delivery time slot to, and I used their online complaints procedure to submit it.
I've received subsequent deliveries from DPD over the weekend, but for some reason my phone is showing as still at my local depot whenever I run the tracking number. They have failed to redeliver despite having sent drivers on my local route since Friday.
As someone who has worked in multiple roles in logistics for several delivery companies, I find this highly unusual. They should have dispatched the phone for a reattempt at delivery on the following route on Saturday morning. What is going on??
