Esim

I have tried purchasing an Esim from 2 different reputable providers and I have had issues activating the esim. They say  my phone is not compatible as its manufactured in China. I checked my device and I have the IME number, and ID mobile confirmation that my device is compatible. I have a Honor 400 Pro. I've just wasted £40 on esims. What is the problem?

    Hi @Andycap17,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve spent £40 on eSIMs that you haven’t been able to activate.

Although the Honor 400 Pro supports eSIM in some regions, eSIM availability depends on the specific model and country of origin. Honor also confirms that a device being listed as eSIM compatible doesn’t necessarily mean every regional version supports the feature. In particular, Honor 400 Pro models manufactured for the Chinese market may not support eSIM.

You can check your specific handset by:

    1. Open the Phone app.
    2. Dial *#06#.
    3. Look for an EID number, not just an IMEI number.
    4. Alternatively, go to Settings > About phone and check whether an EID is displayed.
    5. You can also go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management and check whether Add eSIM is available.

If you only see an IMEI and there is no EID or Add eSIM option, unfortunately, your particular handset doesn’t support eSIM. An IMEI on its own doesn’t confirm eSIM compatibility.

If an EID is displayed and you have the Add eSIM option, then the handset should support eSIM. In that case, please contact our Live Chat team so they can look into compatibility and activation further: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat
