My e-sim was supposed to activate today and change to my old number. How long should that take?

Hi, @Christian Henk

I’m really sorry for the confusion and frustration you’ve experienced with your number transfer I completely understand how inconvenient this must be, especially after waiting a couple of days since setting up your new phone.

Please send us a private message via Facebook, Instagram, Live Chat, or by emailing socialqueries@idmobile.co.uk. Once we can securely access your account, we will check the progress of your number transfer and confirm whether it has been completed.

Thank you,

Activating an eSIM usually takes around five minutes but can take up to an hour. Number ports can take up until 10pm to complete.

To activate your iD Mobile eSIM, you will receive an email containing a QR code after your order is confirmed. You must connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network before downloading the eSIM, as the setup requires an internet connection. Open your phone's Settings, navigate to Mobile Service, Network & Internet, or Connections, and locate the eSIM option. Scan the QR code from the email to begin the download process. The download may take approximately an hour to complete. Once finished, your eSIM will be active, and you can use your iD Mobile service.

Thanks Paul.

I have set my eSIM but it is with a new phone number. When I set up this contract, I filled in all the paperwork for it to port my old number. I have been waiting two days now, and it still hasn’t ported. Now the temporary number is failing to send and receive messages too. I am really not sure what is going on.

Yesterday I received a text saying they are switching my number for me. Today I have received an email saying that I am ready to go with a new number. Even if I have received the message I did yesterday, should I try and do it manually? (I still have the PAC code).

I have had someone from ID mobile reach out, but they wont ring me today. I actually bought this phone last Friday!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Christian
