Subject: Request for Remedy – Faulty iPhone 14 Plus Camera
Dear [iD Mobile Customer Service],
I am writing to formally raise an issue with my iPhone 14 Plus, which I purchased from iD Mobile. The device has developed a fault with the rear camera: while the camera initially shows what I am attempting to photograph, the display then freezes. Notably, the camera functions correctly when using third-party apps such as Snapchat and Instagram, indicating that this is not a hardware issue.
I have already visited Apple regarding this issue, and they confirmed that it is a software fault, not caused by accidental damage or misuse. Despite this, the fault persists and prevents the device from functioning as intended in its native Camera app.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods supplied must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. As my iPhone has developed a fault not caused by misuse, it does not meet these statutory requirements.
Given this, I would like to request an appropriate remedy in line with the Act. Depending on your assessment, this may include repair, replacement, or a refund. Please advise how you wish to proceed and any steps I need to take to facilitate this process.
I would appreciate a prompt response to resolve this matter.
Thank you for your attention.
Kind regards, { REMOVED }

Hi @madisonwallwork

Thank you for getting in touch and for outlining the issue in detail.

I’m sorry to hear about the fault you’re experiencing with your iPhone 14 Plus.

If your device is outside of the returns window, we’re unable to process a repair, replacement, or refund directly from here. In this case, you would need to take the handset into a Currys store for assessment.

Their in-store technicians will be able to inspect the device, confirm the nature of the fault, and advise you on the most appropriate way forward in line with the warranty and Consumer Rights Act considerations.

Once reviewed, they will provide you with the available options based on their findings.
