Hi @AmyNaylor1986

If you bought a new handset you need to request a new replacement esim in order to get this working.

To get a replacement eSIM, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the iD Mobile App or my.idmobile.co.uk and click on Plan.
  2. Go to SIM & Phone Management > Request a replacement SIM or eSIM.
  3. Select Get a replacement eSIM, confirm your email, and choose Yes, I want a new eSIM.

When you request a new eSIM from iD Mobile (via app/website), you receive an email with a QR code within minutes to install a new digital profile. This instantly replaces your old SIM/eSIM, allowing you to activate service on a new device or replace a lost one, taking roughly an hour to become fully active.

Key Details About Requesting an iD Mobile eSIM:
  • Process: Log in to the iD Mobile app or My Account Online, go to "Plan," and choose "Request a replacement SIM or eSIM".
  • The Email: You will receive a QR code in your email, which you scan on your phone while connected to Wi-Fi to start the download.
  • Activation: The download takes about an hour, after which the new eSIM is active.
  • Old eSIM/SIM: The old SIM/eSIM will stop working as soon as the new one is activated.
  • Important Advice: Do not delete your old eSIM before the new one is ready, as you may need to receive an OTP (One-Time Password) text.

When you contact the Live Chat :-

Type ‘talk to a person’ in the dialogue box and this will bypass the unhelpful chatbot.

Please be patient as the agents handle a few conversations at any one time so there will be a delay in connecting with an available agent and also any replies to your query.

You can also contact iD Mobile by sending a private message via their Socials (Facebook, X or Instagram)
