hotspot not visable in wifi networks, though it is visible on my wife’s phone

I’ve just joined ID Mobile on a sim only deal for 12 months with 120 gig of data using an iPhone 12 Pro Max. All is well except that the hotspotting doesn’t work.  The hotspot is viable from my wife’s phone but not mine. I have checked with Apple support and they cannot find any issue despite the usual tech checks including ‘ resetting all networks’. They suggest it may be an issue with my Sim - maybe not being activated for hotspots or tethering. Help please, mark

We're sorry to hear you're having issues with Personal Hotspot.

 

As Apple have already ruled out a handset issue and you've completed a network reset, we'd recommend checking the following:

  • Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Personal Hotspot and ensure it is enabled.
  • Make sure Mobile Data is switched on.
  • Restart both your iPhone and the device you're trying to connect.
  • Try toggling Personal Hotspot off and back on again.
  • Check whether mobile data is working normally on the iPhone itself.

 

Hotspotting is included with iD Mobile plans, so there isn't a separate hotspot or tethering activation required on the SIM.
