how to put sim in new phone?

I purchased an iPhone 16 and want to put my current sim into that phone as I will be getting rid of my old phone. How can I do that?

do I need a new sim? If so how do I request one?
I want to keep the same phone number.

    Simply remove the SIM card from your old phone and insert it into the new one.
