@Easy  I've not done this (in the instructions below)  myself as my voicemail kicks in pretty early I had set this up may year's ago.

You can change your iD Mobile voicemail ring time by dialling **61*123** followed by the number of seconds (from \(5\) to \(30\)) and a # at the end. For example, to set the ring time to \(20\) seconds, dial **61*123**20#. The default is usually \(30\) seconds, but you can make it shorter, down to the nearest \(5\) seconds.

    Hi Joe,

I've tried putting in **61*123**15# but the timing doesn't change, it still remains at 30sec.

Are there any other methods/options to try.

Maybe speak to iD customer service via their online Live Chat service, @Easy

The iD advisers should be able to change the network settings for your voicemail service.

Tell the 24/7 chatbot you’d like to “talk to a person” - the advisers work until 8pm on weekdays.

I have been in an insane vicious cycle trying to resolve this. I tried the *#61#*blahblah code I saw online (d’oh!). It deactivated my voicemail and claimed my # unrecognised. Still rang forever. Had 2 chats with, what are sure to be, bots (the names!) - they gave me many codes then told me to go to Currys for a new sim -_ -. Did that, with the reassurance from Currys dude, that they provided no tech help, it’s all online. Thanks for that. 🙄 A third chat was disconnected and a 4th, eventually, said the number of rings can’t be changed.

then why the F didn’t the first 3 chats tell me this, if true?

So I went to file a complaint, in what looked like a contact form, but it opens a complaint bot chat

Finally got complaint bot to confirm complaint placed via text. Now I wait for more *&^%..

So yeah, I just want a normal amount of rings before it goes to voicemail. Preferred, 4 rings/ 10 seconds. Currently, 16 rings/34 seconds?? When did the seconds method start? And wasn’t changing the amount of rings on your phone one of the very first “fancy” things you could do on a phone?! It just shouldn’t be this complicated. I can’t see how a load of rings is default and unchangeable. The business world (still using phones and v.mail, lol) would never tolerate it!

    Hi @emelem,

I'm sorry to hear how frustrating this has been for you. I can completely understand why you'd be annoyed after being given different advice, making multiple contacts, getting a replacement SIM, and still not getting a clear answer.

If the issue is specifically about the number of rings before voicemail picks up, then unfortunately the last advisor was correct. The ring duration before a call diverts to voicemail isn't something that iD Mobile can manually adjust, and there's no setting available on the account to change it to a specific number of rings such as 4 rings or 10 seconds.

I appreciate that this doesn't explain why you were previously advised to try various codes or replace the SIM card, and I'm sorry for the confusion and inconvenience that caused.

The dial codes you've found online can sometimes alter call forwarding settings on some networks, but they aren't always supported and can occasionally create other issues, such as voicemail becoming deactivated or configuration errors occurring.

As you've already raised a complaint, the best thing to do now is wait for the Complaints Team to review the case and respond. They will be able to investigate the advice you've been given and address the concerns you've raised about the support experience.

I'm sorry again that you've had such a difficult time trying to get a straightforward answer. Hopefully the Complaints Team will be able to provide some clarity and bring the matter to a conclusion for you.

    Regards,

Ps I asked repeatedly for the complaint to be handled through email (so there's a record!) so what did they do? Call. -_ - We are the paying customers and complaints need to be handled our way, not  McCorporate’s.
