I want to use SIM in current contract in new phone of second contract

My Pixel 7 completely died and I have a few months left on the contract. I tool out a new contract for a Pixel 10 and plan to port the number once the original contract expires. In the meantime I wanted to use the old sim of the Pixel 7 in the new Pixel 10, although when I do it seems no service, It does show 4G and the bars but with an “!”. Any ideas how I can get the SIM from the Pixel 7 to be activated in the Pixel 10? To note, the new SIM that came with the Pixel 10 does work. I just prefer to have access to the old number until I am able to port it out onto a PAYG, then port onto the new contract.

Can’t see any reason why the iD SIM from your Pixel 7 would not work in your Pixel 10, @gjambro

Perhaps it was somehow damaged or developed a fault as a result of being moved between the two devices.

Does it still work in the Pixel 7 and does the new SIM work in the Pixel 7?

Still works in an old phone with no issues.

Hi @gjambro

Can you insert the phone in the Pixel 10 and try to manual connect to the network while the SIM card is in the phone and see if will work.

You can try via the steps below.

Can you try and manual connect to iD mobile and see if you can make and receive calls.

Slide two fingers downwards starting from the top of the screen.
Press the settings icon.
Press Network and Internet.
Press SIMs.
Press the name of the SIM.
Press the indicator next to "Automatically select network" to turn off the function and wait while your phone searches for networks.
Press the required network. (iD Mobile)
Wait few minutes and try test services again
