Hi, I am still getting “activation unsuccessful” for iMessages and FaceTime. I have done everything in the article. Can anyone help?

We're sorry to hear you're having trouble activating iMessage and FaceTime.

 

If you've already followed the steps in the article, we'd recommend trying the following:

  • Ensure your number has fully transferred if you've recently joined iD Mobile.
  • Check that you can send and receive standard SMS messages, as iMessage activation requires this.
  • Go to Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm your correct mobile number is displayed.
  • Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off.
  • Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn FaceTime off.
  • Restart your iPhone.
  • Turn both services back on and allow up to 24 hours for activation to complete.
  • Ensure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS.

 

If you've recently ported your number from another network, it can sometimes take a little longer for Apple's activation servers to recognise the new number.
