I am on ID mobile already.
I am getting a new contract on ID mobile in a few days and want to keep the same number that I’m already using. How do I go about doing this please?

Hi @Andyww

If you've taken out a brand-new contract, you won't be able to keep your existing mobile number on that new contract.

This is because iD Mobile doesn't support internal number transfers (internal ports) between two iD Mobile accounts, as this could result in the number being lost.

The only way to keep your existing mobile number on a new plan is to upgrade your current contract, rather than taking out a brand-new one. Upgrading keeps your existing number linked to your account.

If you've recently taken out a new contract and are still within the cooling-off period, you may wish to return the new contract and instead upgrade your existing plan to keep your current number.

Thanks for your reply.

Could I also port the number (using a PAC code to a different network temporarily, then port it back to the new contract? Would that work?

Hi @Andyww,

Yes, you can port your number using a PAC code to a different network temporarily and then port it back to your new contract with us at iD Mobile. Since we do not facilitate internal port-ins, this approach will allow you to keep your number while switching networks.

However, please note that the final decision to port back to iD mobile will be at your discretion. We recommend ensuring that the process is managed smoothly to prevent any disruptions in your service.

If you have any questions about the PAC code process or need further assistance, feel free to reach out!

Thanks,

Tashnieka
