Keeping my Number

Hello,

I recently purchased a new phone and discovered I ordered the wrong model so have ordered a new one and I process of returning the old one. I have been told my number can’t switch over even though both ID mobile phones and contracts? Is this correct? And if so does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi @Chloedarling90,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Unfortunately, that is correct. iD Mobile doesn't support internal number transfers between two iD Mobile plans, even if they're both in your name.

The only way to keep your existing number is to:

  • Upgrade on the original iD Mobile plan, or
  • Transfer your number to or from a different network using a PAC code.

If your number transfer hasn't started yet, it may still be possible for our Customer Service team to cancel it. However, if the transfer has already started processing or has completed, we're unable to stop or reverse it.

If you're unsure what stage your order or transfer is at, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Service team via Live Chat as soon as possible so they can check whether the transfer can still be cancelled.

Regards,

Hello Gemma,

Thank you very much for prompt response

See my new phone and contract it is a more expensive deal- does that count as an upgrade?

Many Thanks,

Chloe

Hi @Chloedarling90,

If the new plan has a new mobile number this would not be a upgrade as an upgrade keeps the same number and does not issue a new one.

If you're unsure what stage your order or transfer is at, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Service team via Live Chat as soon as possible so they can check whether the transfer can still be cancelled.

Thanks,
Hosai
