Liquid detection

My phone has been playing up, every time i go to charge, ( any charger) an alarm signals liquid detection …. now it hasn't been near any water?… i don't know what to do?

Sometimes it lets me up to about 30% then it flags liquid in the connector?

Ive put it in rice but what could the issue be please?

The “liquid detected” warning can sometimes appear even if the phone hasn’t been in contact with water, as it may be caused by moisture in the environment, debris in the charging port, or a potential fault with the charging connector itself.

 

We’d recommend trying the following:

  • Ensure the charging port is completely dry and free from dust or debris
  • Try a different certified charging cable and plug
  • Restart the device and attempt charging again after some time

 

If the message continues to appear even after trying these steps, it’s likely there may be a hardware issue with the charging port or internal sensor.

 

In this case, the next step would be to contact the device manufacturer or an authorised repair centre so they can inspect it properly. If the device is still under warranty, they may be able to repair or replace it for you.
