I arrived in Thailand a month ago and at the airport got a replacement SIM card for the month, while travelling I lost my old SIM card with my phone number from the UK. I have been getting notifications telling me to re-insert the old sim or the number will be deleted, I can’t do this as I have lost the SIM and when on the ID mobile app it sends a verification text to my UK phone number which ID have made inactive and therefore I can’t verify it is me. Help would be extremely appreciated.

Hi @JoeMortimer33 ,

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. I can understand how stressful it is being abroad and not being able to access your UK number or account.

Because your original SIM has been lost and is now inactive, we need to secure your account first. The verification codes are still being sent to your UK number, which is why you’re currently locked out.

Here’s the quickest way forward:
• We’ll need to suspend the lost SIM to protect your number
• Then we can arrange a replacement SIM or eSIM
• Once that’s active, your account access will be restored

For now, please try:
• Logging in using your email address (if available instead of SMS)
• Checking if you’re already logged into the iD Mobile app on another device
• Avoid repeated login attempts as this may continue triggering SMS verification

To get this resolved as quickly as possible, please contact our support team directly:

Call: 0800 049 1300
Or speak to us via Live Chat on the iD Mobile website (Help & Support section)

We’ll make sure your SIM and account access are restored as soon as possible
