microphone problems with handset

I purchased a pixel 9a in December 2025 however when now reviewing videos made on the phone I've noticed that the microphone does not work adequately. The sound quality is almost inaudible. Videos made on my previous handset work fine and the quality is only diminished since using my current handset. I purchased the handset through yourselves as part of a plan.

Thank you for getting in touch, and I’m very sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with your Pixel 9a microphone. I understand how frustrating it must be to find that videos recorded on your new handset have poor audio quality compared to your previous device.

 

As your purchase was made in December 2025, unfortunately you are outside of the standard returns window. However, you can take your handset to a Currys store, where a store technician will be able to inspect the device and assist with diagnosing or repairing the issue.

 

We appreciate your understanding, and I hope the store team can help restore your phone to full working order.
