Hi, I’ve upgraded from an ID Mobile phone contract to a SIM-only plan. I’m trying to keep my number, but the app and website both show an error (“Oops… something went wrong”). The PAC/PUK process isn’t working because both numbers are with iD.

Can you please raise a manual internal number transfer to move my existing number onto my new SIM?

Unfortunately, since you purchased an additional plan and haven’t upgraded, you can’t move an existing iD Mobile number from one account to another.

You have two options:

- Cancel the new plan and upgrade your existing one.

- Port out the number you want to keep to a different network and then port it back to your new plan.

Hi @Iambatman

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m really sorry you’re having trouble transferring your number after upgrading to a SIM-only plan.
Unfortunately, iD Mobile does not support internal number transfer,  meaning you can’t move a number from one iD Mobile account to another using a PAC code. This is a common limitation across many networks.

To keep your existing number, you have two options:
- If you upgrade directly through the iD Mobile app or website (instead of starting a new contract), your number will automatically carry over.
- Porting your current iD Mobile number to a Pay As You Go SIM on another network (e.g. Vodafone, EE).
- Then porting it back to your new iD Mobile SIM using your PAC code.

If there’s anything we can do to improve your experience. Please get in touch via our Socials (Facebook or Instagram), Live Chat, Community, or email socialqueries@idmobile.co.uk with the details, and we’ll be happy to help.
