moved over to ID but unable to add number for imessage

I recently moved over to ID and transferred my number over. I still am unable to add my old number to the iMessage app.

Hi ​@Claireslade22.

 

Thank you for your post, please try the following steps:

 

Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.

Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.

Restart your iPhone.

Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on.

 

This should resolve the issue and allow your old number to be added successfully.
