need a pac cose but out of contract and now they want passport

I am out of contract since Sunday and needs PAC to switch my number but am repeatedly being told different things by the agents. The last agent asked for me to send my passport/driving license on the chat channel to be able to send me my PAC when I have already answered the security questions. To send this data via an unsecured channel is in breach of the data protection act. What can I do to get my PAC?

The quickest and most common way to get a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) is to text 'PAC' to 65075 from the mobile number you wish to keep.

if you’re wanting a PAC code, we do require you to confirm an OTP sent via text or provide proof of identification as part of our fraud prevention process.

 

It’s great to see iD Mobile taking steps to prevent PAC fraud, especially given the numerous posts on the subject this year.
