Question

Network blocking my iPhone

I’m on holiday at the moment in Egypt and after switching off airplane mode, my ID Mobile eSIM no longer wants to connect to any signal- my phone is being blocked from the network, including when trying a local physical sim. I can’t get hold of live chat for some reason, even when accepting all cookies. Can you direct me to your customer service somehow or check my account?

Hi @Koko1

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing while in Egypt.

It sounds like your eSIM may be having a temporary network or account issue. While we’re unable to access your account directly here on the community, there are some steps you can try to get reconnected:

1. Restart your phone – this can refresh the network connection.
2. Check roaming settings – make sure Data Roaming is enabled:

iPhone: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Data Roaming
Android: Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming
3. Toggle Airplane Mode – switch it on for 30 seconds, then off.
4. Manual network selection – sometimes the eSIM needs to connect to a local partner network:
iPhone: Settings > Cellular > Network Selection > Turn off Automatic > select a local provider
Android: Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > select a local provider
5. Test with a local SIM – if possible, try a local SIM to check if the issue is device-related.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, you’ll need to contact our Customer Service Team to check your account and roaming settings:
