Question

New iPhone 17, cant make or receive calls.

I have a new iPhone17 and still can’t make or receive calls. I’ve changed network but kept my old number

Yesterday, after checking all ‘settings’ etc, and the phone was still not working, I finally found advice to ‘Reset Network Settings’ which worked for 12 hours during which time, I could make and receive calls.

However, today, it’s not working again - even when I ‘Reset Network Settings’.

This is SO frustrating.  Please help ASAP.

Hi @LKS123,

I'm really sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your calls. Please try the steps below:

Go to Settings.
Tap Phone.
Tap My Number.
Use the delete button to remove the old number.
Use the keypad to enter the new number, it should start as +44.
Tap Save.
1. Go to Settings
2. Messages
3. Turn off iMessage.
4. Go to General
5. Reset
6. Reset Network Settings.
7. Once the iPhone is open.
8. Go to Settings
9. Messages Turn ON iMessage.
10.This will recognize the new sim and have it verified.

I did all that & nothing helped.

Finally managed to be ‘escalate to Customer Support’.

After a few checks, was told to delete my eSIM and they’d send me a new one.
Thankfully I had my photo ID on me as I had to take selfies & send it to prove who I am.

New eSIM now appears to work, but will it tomorrow??????

Complaints Dept due to call me to follow this issue up.

Incredibly frustrating. Even more difficult to get past the useless Bot Support, that’s no help whatsoever.
