no network signal with phyiscal sim different id esim works

Good Morning all, 

 

purchased a one-month contract adding an Esim to my iPhone 12 pro max with no issues a month later i purchased a physical Sim card 12-month contract but i am unable to make it work in my device? 

when putting the physical Sim card into an iPhone 8 i can just use data unable to make or receive calls? 

tried using a mates iPhone 15/16 pro and the physical sim worked with no issues? 

at this point I’m really confused? is the Esim conflicting with the physical even though I’m turning the Esim off ? if so, why does it not work in the iPhone 8?

 

your thoughts and advised would be apricated as my PAC code is not far off expiring.
