I have an issue with my new iD Mobile SIM card. I have a strong mobile signal and can make/receive calls, send/receive text messages and can access the Internet (using the iD Mobile SIM card) on my Nokia 2660 Flip, but ‘No service’ continues to appear on the handset screen for some reason. All of my previous SIM cards (Sky/Tesco Mobile) worked fine on the phone. Can anyone help?

Hi @dyfboy,

I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve been experiencing issues with your service, I understand how frustrating that can be.

After checking this for you, it appears that your device isn’t compatible with the network requirements of iD Mobile UK, which is likely why you’re facing these difficulties. I appreciate that this may not have been clear, and I’m sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

You can view the full list of compatible devices using the link below to see which models are fully supported on the network:

If you’d like, I can also help double-check your device model or talk with iD Mobile customer services.

Regards,

Hello Gemma. Yes, I became aware of this after I joined iD Mobile. However, the Nokia 2660 Flip is showing as a supported device on the Three website. So why is it not compatible with the iD Mobile network? Can you ask iD Mobile Customer Services to look into this for me?

Hi Gemma.  I would like to add to this conversation. I’m having the same issue as dyfboy.

Firstly, this phone is for sale on the iD network website, so how can it not be compatible?  Here is the link: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/shop/pay-monthly/nokia-2660-128mb-pop-pink

I agree, it’s not listed as one of your compatible phones on the iD website, but if it is for sale on the iD website then it MUST be compatible!

Secondly, I bought mine from Curry’s, who are part of the iD Mobile group and who sell iD Mobile contracts/SIMs.  I bought my SIM separately through the iD Mobile website as Curry’s didn’t have any PAYG SIMs in stock.

My phone should therefore state iD Mobile for the SIM1 slot, but it says No Service.  The SIM works and it didn’t need activated, but the phone should show the network it’s using.

I was on an iD Mobile Live Chat for an hour yesterday with someone who just wasn’t interested and was probably chatting to multiple people at once.  My query was probably too complex to put to the top of the pile, even if I was there first.  She didn’t read what I was saying nor did she respond accordingly and I kept having to repeat myself.  I don’t think she even knew what my problem was, despite my clear description.  She also continually ignored my requests for the query to be passed to a technical team member to be looked into in more detail.

In the end I lodged a complaint and got a credit.  That’s what happens when you outsource customer service and employ anyone, anywhere.

We can’t be the only ones with this issue, so please find out what the problem is.  You seem to have gone quiet, so I hope this is still on your radar.  Thanks.

Hi @datura,

Thank you for the above, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused to you in relation to the network issues you are facing, I have checked the handset compatibility and do see that this is on the list under ”HMD” on the page.
As this is displayed, I have now sent you a private message.

To find it, click your profile picture in the top-right corner and select ‘Private Messages’.

You can also use this direct link to your inbox: https://community.idmobile.co.uk/inbox/overview

I'll speak to you there.

Thanks,
Hosai

@Hosai W

Great that it’s on the list.  I was not aware of the company HMD and that they had Nokia phones.  I would have thought that all employees would know this.  Thanks for pointing it out.

So, what can you with regards the network display issue, given that I CAN use the service, but the network is not displayed as it should be?  I feel like I’m on some unregistered dark network at the moment!  It can’t be a Nokia issue as I’ve seen other phones with other networks displayed, e.g., on Amazon reviews.  It must be an iD issue.

Thanks.
