Question

No short code SMS messages sending since swapping to iD

I changed to iD from another provider but kept my original number. Short code SMS won’t send since changing- contacted apps directly, reset network settings- nothing seems to be working.

    Hi @Snikpohain ,

Are you trying to enter a competition (for example) via short code that has a charge for doing so (as short code use/charges are not included in iD Mobile packages)?

If so, is your account Bill Cap set to an £ so that the short code charge can go through? (SC’s are charged as Out of Plan and you can also check the cost via this link)

    https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/call-charges

    To set your Bill cap:-
Login to your account, Tap on Bills, scroll down to Manage bill cap, move the slider to the maximum £ you are prepared to pay each  month and then click Save.

    Good luck x

    Hi @Snikpohain

Thank you for getting in touch.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble sending short code SMS since moving over to us I understand how frustrating that can be, especially when it affects apps and verification messages.

As you’ve kept your original number, this can sometimes happen if the number transfer (port) hasn’t fully completed in the background, particularly for short code and premium messaging services.

To help resolve this, we’ll need to check the following on your account:

That your number port has fully completed across all services
That short code / premium SMS is enabled on your line
That there are no restrictions or bars affecting these messages

You’ve already done the right steps by resetting network settings and contacting the apps, so thank you for that.

If the issue persists, please send us private message via our socials (Facebook or Instagram) or via our live chat at https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

    Thank you,
