Nothing Phone 2a - disconnects from mobile network

Around twice a day when I go to make a phone call I find my Nothing Phone 2A will not connect to the mobile network. It shows connected to iD but if I call it immediately drops the call and it doesn’t connect.

The only solution is to reboot the phone after which it works again.

It doesn’t seem to make any difference if I have wifi on or off.

The phone is running Android 15, last updated 1st Sept 2025.

The issue was present before the last Android update and remains now.

My son has the same phone handset on another operator and has none of these issues.

I don’t know if I have a faulty handset or it is connectivity issues with the iD network.

Before further troubleshooting, I’d try requesting a SIM replacement to see if that resolves the issue.

Hi @matstaples

Thank you for getting in touch.

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your phone disconnecting from the network.

Is this happening all over or in one area?

Thanks

Hey Natalie

It happens both at home and at work so two different areas so not specifically a local network issue.

At both locations I have a good phone network signal strength, around 4/5

Thank you.

Do you find it happens when you are connected to 4G, 5G or WiFi Calling?

I don’t do wifi calling.

At home my phone says 5G but your coverage checker shows no 5G cover in my area so I’m not sure what I’m connected to.

At work there is 5G in the area and the phone shows 5G.

Again, signal levels indoors are very similar 4/5 of full signal.
