Question

Old number issues. I switched and I recieve calls on one mumber and output on a different one.

When I switched to ID in November 2023, I chose to keep my mobile number from before. However, since then, I have had issues where my outgoing calls show up as the number that ID gave me, but I can still receive calls on the number I wanted from before.

This was a bit of an issue, however I lived with it. But now I can’t receive text confirmation codes from companies 50% of the time. It will recognise my number but I won’t get a text through.

any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi there @EdHumphries, please try the following:

    1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Apps >  Messages)
    2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
    3) Tap Settings > Apps > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
    4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
    5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
    6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

If you are having issues with step 4 please reset network settings and try again.

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

    Hi @Gregs.

Thanks for your post. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this as well. I can understand how frustrating it must be.

This could be related to your device settings, but it may also indicate that your number transfer hasn’t fully completed, which can cause issues like calls showing a different number or not receiving certain texts.

To get this properly looked into, we’d recommend contacting us directly via live chat so we can assess your account and confirm whether your number has fully transferred over: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat.

We’ll then be able to guide you through the next steps to get this resolved.

    Thanks,

    Marquerita
