Question

phone number not activating so i cannot make calls?

I have had my eSIM activated for a month now and the data has worked perfectly fine. Activated immediately.

However, I cannot get my number to work so that I can make phone calls and text messages. I have a number assigned to me but the signal bars in the top right (although working for data signal) are greyed out.

    Hi @SLB17,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re still unable to make calls or send texts despite your eSIM data working correctly.

Please try a network settings reset, as this can help your device reconnect correctly to the network.

    For iPhone:

    1. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
    2. Tap Reset.
    3. Select Reset Network Settings.
    4. Once your phone restarts, go to Settings > Phone > My Number.
    5. Check that the correct mobile number is displayed. If not, remove the incorrect number and enter your assigned iD Mobile number.
    6. Restart the phone again.

    For Android:

    1. Go to Settings > General Management/System.
    2. Select Reset.
    3. Select Reset Network Settings or Reset Mobile Network Settings.
    4. Confirm the reset.
    5. Restart your phone once completed.

Please note that resetting your network settings may remove saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth connections.

If you’re still unable to make calls or send texts afterwards, please contact our Live Chat team so they can investigate the service on your eSIM further: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat
