My mobile number hasn't transferred correctly, the temporary number still shows on sms texts. I have carried out the instructions given on help page, but the wrong number still shows in RCS chats.

    Hi @Claire Wayman ,

Thank you for getting in touch. If your number transfer has completed successfully but RCS Chats is still showing your temporary iD Mobile number, this is usually because the RCS registration has not updated following the number port.

    Please try the following steps:

    Open the Google Messages app.
Tap your Profile Icon in the top-right corner.
Select Messages settings > RCS chats.
    Turn RCS chats OFF.
    Restart your handset.
Return to RCS chats and turn the feature ON again.
If prompted, ensure your ported mobile number is entered and verified.

If the temporary number is still showing, please clear the Messages app cache:

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Messages
     • Select Storage
     • Tap Clear Cache

You can also unregister your number from Google's RCS service by visiting messages.google.com/disable-chat, then re-enable RCS after a few minutes. This can help refresh the registration and remove the temporary number from Google's servers.

Please note that RCS is managed by Google rather than iD Mobile, so occasionally it can take some time for the service to update following a number transfer.

If you have completed all of the above and the incorrect number is still showing, please let us know: • Your handset make and model
     • Whether you are using a physical SIM or eSIM
     • The date your number transfer completed

We'll then be happy to investigate further.

    Thanks,
