phone number transfer

This is the first time I've received a new phone with an eSim, i am keeping my number and supplied the PAC code at the point of ordering and selected a change over date. I have set up the eSim on the new phone using the supplied number, will the change to the number I'm keeping just happen automatically on the day selected to change, or is there any further I should be doing?

I can confirm that the number would transfer over on the selected date requested, As the esim is set up you would not need to remove the old sim.
