Question

Phone Texting out with incorrect number

I switched my phone from 3 to I'd mobile. After a few days I switched my new number to old number.  However when I text people it comes up with thr old I'd mobile number, if you try and call it you can't get through.

As i use my phone for work this is causing confusion people asking who it is.

I have tried resetting the network settings, taking the chip out of the phone but this still happens.

Can you advise why this is happening.

    Hi @Cpainter,

We are so sorry to hear of the issues that you are currently facing. Please try the steps below, depending on the type of phone you have:

    For Android:

    1. Open Settings
    2. Tap General Management
    3. Tap Reset
    4. Select Reset network settings

    For iPhone:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Phone
    • Tap My Number
    • Delete the old number
    • Enter the new/current number
    • Tap Save

Then follow these steps to refresh iMessage:

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Tap Messages
    3. Turn iMessage OFF
    4. Go to Settings > General
    5. Tap Reset
    6. Choose Reset Network Settings
    7. Once your iPhone restarts, go back to Settings
    8. Tap Messages
    9. Turn iMessage ON again

Your iPhone should now recognise the SIM and verify your number to get it working again.

If this does not work, please get in touch with our customer service team via live chat, and request a replacement SIM.

    Regards,
