poor service - no phone access for 3 weeks

Has anyone else had issues with obtaining an e-sim / physical sim? 
I’ve had no mobile number for 3 weeks now and find trying to get anything out of ID mobile harder than getting blood out of a stone. 
I’ve no access to my number yet part of the process involves a one time passcode sent to the mobile number! I’ve gone on live chat about 8 times now and have to prove my identity each time, they promise me it will be sent to my email and still nothing. Last week (2weeks of no mobile access at this point) and promised me a physical SIM card would come in the post. It’s now been another week (3rd week of no phone access) and still nothing! 
has anyone had anything similar? I really don’t know what to do, but I don’t feel having no mobile access for 3 weeks is acceptable!
