Ported number not showing as “My Number” in iphone settings

I recently ported my EE number to ID Mobile. Everything went well and everything seems to be working but when I look at “My Number” in the settings it still shows the number that came with the eSIM before I ported. I’m a bit worried that this could cause problems in the future. Can anyone help?

Hi @Gph1952

Thank you for your message, and I’m sorry for the ongoing issues with your ported number. I completely understand your concern about this potentially causing problems in the future.

Since your number is still not appearing under “My Number” or in the iPhone settings, even after switching SIMs and restarting, this indicates that the port hasn’t fully completed on the device level, even though your phone is otherwise working.

Please go to Settings> Phone> My Number.
Please change it to the number you wish to keep. It might not allow to change or save immediately.
If you are still unable to save the number, please open the Settings app. Tap General. Scroll down to the bottom of the list. Tap Reset. The "Reset" option is at the bottom of the Settings menu. ... Tap Reset Network Settings. Enter your passcode if prompted, then tap Reset Network Settings to confirm your choice. This will help.

Thank you,

Zandile

Hi @Gph1952

I do apologise that the incorrect number is showing after the switch. If you have received the text informing you that your number switched successfully, please view the below:

Thanks for that. I tried to update my number (step 2) but it wouldn’t save. I also tried resetting iMessage and FaceTime and the ported number is now ticked in the “send & receive” but the number that came with the ID eSIM is also displayed but not ticked. Finally, the number displayed under “This iPhone 16” is the one that came with the ID eSIM and not the ported number.

I’ll try taking the SIM card out of my old phone and restart the new one to see if that helps

I’ve now removed the SIM card from my old phone and restarted the new one but no luck. “My number” and “This iPhone 16” settings are still not showing the ported number! As I said, the phone seems to be working fine but I’m sure this is going to cause me some problems in the future

Thank you Zandile. I reset the network settings and the ported number is now displayed under “My number” and “this iPhone”.
Thanks again, great service 👍
