I am using a Sharp Aquos Sense 9 which is a great phone. Unfortunately all incoming calls appear as UNKNOWN and it doesn't work while roaming. I realise it isn't an officially supported device by iD. I was wondering if there is anything the technical team can do to register it correctly. I am considering switching networks otherwise.

Hi @s2k

Thank you for reaching out.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Sharp Aquos Sense 9, particularly with incoming calls displaying as "Unknown" and the handset not working correctly while roaming.

As you've mentioned, the Sharp Aquos Sense 9 is not one of the handsets officially supported by iD Mobile. Unfortunately, we can only guarantee compatibility with devices that are listed as supported on our website.

Before making a final decision, you may wish to try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart the handset.
  • Toggle Airplane Mode on for 60 seconds, then switch it off.
  • Ensure the handset software is fully up to date.
  • Remove and reinsert the SIM card.
  • Set the preferred network mode to 4G/LTE only.
  • Manually select the network:
    • Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Network Operators.
    • Turn Automatic Selection off.
    • Select Three UK manually (or our preferred roaming partner when abroad).
    • Re-enable Automatic Selection afterwards.
  • Reset the handset's network settings.
  • While roaming, ensure Data Roaming is enabled and manually connect to one of our preferred roaming partners where available.

If you've already tried these steps and the issue persists, I'm afraid we won't be able to make any changes from our side to improve compatibility. As the handset is not officially supported, our Technical Team would also be unable to register or configure the device differently on the network.

We appreciate that this isn't the outcome you were hoping for, and we're sorry for any disappointment this may cause.
